What happens to us when we die? Where does our soul go?  Chances are, if you were brought up in a religious background you believe that there are only 2 places you can go: Heaven and Hell.  If you are a good person and believe the right things, you spend eternity in Heaven. If you are a sinful person, you spend an eternity in hell.  Thankfully, this is a false dichotomy.
On top of the fact that it doesn’t even make sense to think about only 2 options (both of which are eternal), there has been a lot of scientific investigation into what happens when people leave their bodies when it dies and then return after experiencing time in the spirit world. Thousands of near-death experiences have given us the information we need to form a more accurate picture of what awaits us on the other side.  Some do report hellish realms, and almost all report heavenly realms, but there is another side of the coin here that needs to be addressed.
Dr. Michael Newton is a psychologist who specialized in hypnotherapy, where he would put people into hypnosis to bring out any past traumas they experienced in their lives and walk them through the memories into healing.  He soon discovered that he was able to bring people back so far into their memories that they were remembering things that weren’t even taking place in this life anymore.  They were taking place in between lives! see also - HOW TO DEVELOP POSITIVE THINKING
In his books Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls (which together have sold over half a million copies) he shares case studies that he has gathered over the course of four decades of bringing people back into the memories of their souls journey.  Surprisingly, they all said the exact same things, and coincided very nicely with a lot of the NDE accounts that have occurred.

As of right now, this is the best picture we have painted of what awaits us on the other side.  Here are 7 things which these two fields of study have strongly suggested happen to us when we die:

1) Life Flash

An extremely common phenomenon within people who are dying is that they see their entire life flash before their eyes.  The brain snaps into hyper-speed mode and starts revisiting your memory databank before your soul separates from your body.
2) You Can See Your Body

Many people will see their physical body right as they exit it at the moment that consciousness disconnects from the physical body.  You will be able to see your surroundings and the things that are happening around your dead body.  This will not scare you however, because it will feel as natural as anything.  Some people report feeling frustrated or angry over the way they died and wishing that they could go back into their body to seek revenge, but this feeling passes with time as you begin to fall into the Light.
3) The Light

People always report seeing a light when they die.  The light appears off in the distance, and you will slowly be pulled towards it, almost as if you are being pulled by a magnet.  The light is always accompanied by a sense of love and peace.  This is your transition phase back to your home in the spirit world.

4) Seeing Dead Relatives

Right when you enter into the spirit world after being pulled through the light, you are greeted by loved ones who are there to embrace you and comfort you.  It’s sort of like a reunion.  These are not necessarily your relatives from your current earth life.  They may be family members of yours from previous lives who have been with you throughout your whole souls evolution.  Essentially, you have family members you don’t currently know about from a totally different bloodline who will greet you as you enter the spirit world.  You will, of course, remember their names and recognize their faces upon return. see also - 3 AMAZING MIND TRICKS THAT WILL HELP YOU REMEMBER SMALL DETAILS
It’s important to note here that the souls will take on the image they had in physical form to create a sense of home and familiarity for you.  Souls don’t look like they did on earth necessary.  The body is just a body. The soul is formless, but can take various shapes to serve different purposes.  It is said that advanced souls who have lived many lives don’t necessarily have relatives that greet them, because they understand what the spirit world is about and have been through many times before.  It is said in the books that advanced souls sometimes skip this step because it is not needed for them.
5) Guardian Angels/Spirit Guides

You have your own assigned guardian angel, or ‘spirit guide’ depending on which term you like to use better.  Whatever you wish to call them, you will encounter your guide in the spirit world and they will comfort you and make you feel at home.  But, this is also the time where the fun and games are over.  After you experience some of the heavenly realms, duty begins to call.  Your guide has been with you and watching you throughout your life, and wants to go over some things with you.  It’s time to take out your report card from the life you just lived:

6) Life Review

You meet with your angels/guides and go over everything that happened in your life.  People report seeing their entire life as a sort of movie film in front of their eyes or on the pages of a book.  You may have to see some things that make you feel ashamed and like you failed, but this is not a time of judgment.  This is a time of review, and discussion about what needs to be improved upon as a soul.  After you see your whole life, you may come to an agreement with your guides to come back to Earth to work on things after a certain period of time in the spirit world.

7) You Don’t Want To Return

You feel such an overwhelming amount of peace and love that you don’t want to return.  You don’t have to worry about illness or earthly tasks.  You are boundless, safe, and free.  No stress, no pain, and no suffering. you may like - 3 HERBS THAT BOOST OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM AND PROTECT US FROM INFECTION
But remember, reincarnation may await you.  You may either volunteer to come back to help other souls on earth, you may NEED to come back to alleviate Karma, or you may choose to come back to evolve more as a soul and experience the richness of life.
Keep in mind, these are what thousands of people have been saying about their memories/experiences of the afterlife, and these conclusions are being drawn from forty years of professional work.  I personally confidently believe in the reality of such a process, as I think it makes the most sense and is well supported by evidence.

That being said, there are people who report going to realms which resemble Hell where they see demons and other nasty things.  We can’t turn a blind eye to the reality of dark realms just because they may scare us.  Although Dr. Newton did not report any such findings, many people who have had NDEs have had very frightening experiences which had deterred them away from bad behaviour and inspired them to live better lives. you may like - TOP 10 BENEFITS OF PRACTICING YOGA REGULARLY
The main thing to take away from this, is that you are taken care of.  You are infinitely loved and will be looked after.  There is no death, only transition. You WILL get to reunite with the souls of loved ones, and you will experience magical realms.  Peace, love, and serenity awaits. But so does accountability.  The destiny of your soul is related to your behaviour as a human being in this life.  That will be good news to some, and for others may inspire the desire to improve themselves.  Either way, we should be asking ourselves the following questions:
How am I treating other souls in this world? What am I doing to help myself and the people around evolve?

It's not very often we stop to think about how freaking amazing it is that we can fly all around the world in a colossal hunk of metal about 10 kilometres above Earth's surface and, statistically, it's a lot safer than driving a car. You know, on land. Sometimes we all just need to watch this "Everything is amazing and no one is happy" clip by Louis CK and remember that yes, being able to fly in an aeroplane is nothing short of a technological marvel and we should all be holding our seats in unbridled awe every time we take off.see also -

But about that technological marvel - what exactly is the science behind it? The latest episode of MinutePhysics gets right down to it, and says the most important thing to remember when thinking through the physics of flight is that there's no net force applied to an aeroplane. "And with no net force, an object at rest stays at rest,"says Henry.you may like - LARGEST SWARM OF ROBOTS EVER PROGRAMMED BY SCIENTISTS
Not that there aren't any forces at all acting on the plane - there's gravity for one, all the heavy people onboard for two, and even the air molecules that are being funnelled through the fuselage or colliding with the wings are exerting some force onto it. But as long as these forces are counter-acted, and in this case, they have to be counteracted by forced moving upwards, then the plane will stay where it is.see also - EINSTEIN'S THEORY OF RELATIVITY
So what are these upwards forces that can counteract gravity and hundreds of heavy people? According to MinutePhysics, it's all above getting the air molecules surrounding the plane to push up. Day 101.

These are quite possibly the very best ribs I have ever had. They were so good they made my eyes roll backwards, which is nearly impossible right now because I have a hive on it.

Yes.

I have a hive on my EYEBALL. My left one. It's been rather windy here lately, so the

A smile is the universal welcome, the writer Max Eastman once remarked. But how sure can we be that a person’s smile is genuine? The answer is the empathy test, created by psychologist Richard Wiseman, which probes our ability to appreciate the feelings of others – from their appearance.see also - HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE COULD PREVENT ALZHEIMER'S
A photographer asks a subject to imagine meeting an individual they don’t like and to put on a fake smile. Later the subject sits with a real friend and as they converse, the photographer records their genuine smile. Thus two versions of their smile are recorded.see also -

The question is: how easy is it to tell the difference? “If you lack empathy, you are very bad at differentiating between the two photographs,” says Wiseman, who teaches at the University of Hertfordshire.you may like - 100+ MIND-BLOWING SPACE PICTURES BY [NASA]
But how do professions differ in their ability to spot a fake? And in particular, how do scientists and journalists score? Neither are particularly renowned for their empathy, after all. Last month’s Scientists Meet the Media party, for which theObserver is the media sponsor, gave Wiseman a perfect opportunity to compare the two professions.
At the party, hosted by the Science Museum in London, some of Britain’s top researchers mingled with UK science journalists. About 150 guests were shown photographs of subjects with fake and genuine smiles. Guests were then asked to spot the false and the true. The results were intriguing.you may like - ''TOP 15 YOGA POSES FOR RELIEVE STRESS & ANXIETY''

“The public normally gets around 60% right, which is above the chance level of 50%,” says Wiseman. “Partygoers got 66% which is significantly higher while there was some difference between age groups: under-40s did slightly better than over-40s.”
However, the real difference came with professions: physical scientists got 60% right; biological scientists 66% and journalists a very impressive 73%. But they were all eclipsed by social scientists, with 80% – though only four took part, making their results less significant.see also - TOP 7 WORLD'S THREATENED & STUNNING BEACHES
As to the difference between the two photographs above, it is the one on the right that is false. “You use more face muscles when you have a genuine smile and you see that in the lines round the eyes of the subject which crinkle up more,” says Wiseman. The eyes have it, in short.

conciousness-heart-man-light

In modern day society, especially in the Western world, if you were to ask someone to point to the place in their body where their consciousness is located and their decisions are made, they would most likely point to their head.
Our indigenous ancestors, however, would respond to the same question by pointing to their hearts. They understood the heart’s ability to intelligently perceive and decipher the world around them, and acknowledged the limitations and reductionist nature of living in a manner in which one relies primarily on the mind.
They went beyond the thoughts in their heads, using the heart as an organ of perception to connect with the energy fields of other organisms – not just other humans, but the earth as well – in order to fully immerse themselves in the deeper meanings embodying their thoughts.
Engaging in this kind of heart-based perception and communication with the world tends to render what once seemed important as relatively meaningless, and what once seemed meaningless as meaningful. When a person breathes in the meaning of another organism using their heart field, a subtle shift occurs within, whether subtle or major, that forever changes them. The ancient Greeks referred to this kind of silent, invisible heart-based communication as aesthesis, which means “to breathe in.”
The Heart-Brain Connection
Although many of us have been taught that the heart responds to orders from the brain, sent in the form of neuralnetworks, the truth is that the heart actually sends moreorders to the brain via neural signals than the brain does to the heart. Due to this, the heart is sometimes referred to as the “heart brain” and our minds are referred to as the “cranial brain.” Neural signals sent to  the cranial brain from the heart significantly impact brain function and affect emotional and cognitive processes such as attention, perception, memory, and problem solving.
man-heart - brain-connection

Different patterns of heart activity have different effects on the brain. For example. the erratic, unstable patterns of heart activity experienced when stress and/or negative feelings are present send corresponding neural signals from the heart to the cranial brain that inhibit cognitive faculties. As a result, the ability to reason and think clearly is impaired, which may be the reason why many act impulsively and make poor decisions in stressful situations. On the other hand, the stable, orderly patterns of heart activity during pleasant situations and in the presence of positive feelings result in corresponding neural signals sent from the heart to the brain which improve cognitive functions and encourage mental stability. So, making an effort to manifest a life that evokes positive feelings can greatly increase cognitive abilities and emotional stability.
The Heart Brain Connection In Response To Stimuli
One study found that the heart receives and reacts to stimuli before it even occurs, formulating a response to the incoming input before the brain even has a chance to process it. Researchers refer to this phenomenon as a “body premonition.” This further encourages the notion that implementing the heart as an organ of perception may be far wiser than isolating the brain as the primary center of perception and consciousness.
The Heart And Energy Fields
The heart, which holds the title as the organ with the most powerful electromagnetic field in the body, can sense the heart of another individual up to ten feet away. Since the brain is highly sensitive to the reactions of the heart, it is able to pick up this kind of electromagnetic “heart sensing” and essentially alter the brain waves of another individual, as well as themselves, and/or actually synchronize their brainwaves with the other person’s.
electromagnetic -field-heart-centre
Most of us have met a personwhose presence, for no apparent reason, caused a sense of discomfort – whether it was sadness, anger, anxiety, or any other uneasy feeling – that warranted the decision to not forge a deeper connection with them. Just as we may not know why we felt this way around them, as they said all the right words and presented themselves in a “socially acceptable” way, we often may not pick up on the fact that this is occurring because of the other person’s energy and it is, in reality, not personal at all. In this way, the electromagnetism of the heart greatly shapes our relationships, guiding us by what seems to be an almost effortless gravitation to connect with the heart fields of some people who then become friends and/or romantic partners, and steering us away from people whose heart energies clash with our own.
This type of energy sensing also occurs with places, objects, and so on. For example, when you go to a restaurant and the hostess tells you that you can sit wherever you would like, you most likely do not choose just any given table. You are far more likely to observe the room, checking out various seating options, even if your consideration of each is fleeting. Then you choose one table, oftentimes out of numerous other identical ones, but why? Sure, there are factors like noise and wanting to sit by a window – but not always. I think each of us can admit to at least once in life choosing to sit somewhere because we were drawn to it, or to not sit somewhere because for whatever reason it doesn’t “feel” as good as somewhere else in the room. Rarely do we stop to wonder why we intuitively make decisions like this.
Considering the heart’s ability to pick up the energies of people, places, and things, and intuitively decipher what feels “right” and what for some reason doesn’t “feel right,” along with the brain’s sensitivity in detecting even the subtlest changes in the heart’s energy field and its ability to then alter its own mechanisms in response and change our brain waves, thought patterns, etc., it seems quite inappropriate to heed the advice of eternal pessimists who advise against following the heart. They tell you it will lead you into trouble, but that very way of living, of placing consciousness solely in the mind and designating it as the only intelligent organ of perception in our bodies, is perhaps why such people are so pessimistic in the first place. To place thoughts over feelings when making big decisions in life, especially big decisions, can be dangerous – not in the way society defines danger, but by the way the spirit defines danger, as confining any part of your true essence within, which is in many ways a waking death. Debatably equally dangerous though, and certainly equally important, is to not place feelings over thoughts entirely when making decisions either. Yes, especially big decisions. The trick to solving this problem truly isn’t much of a trick, rather it’s more of an ancient, long forgotten way of living in which you maintain somewhat of an energetic equilibrium between the heart and the brain – and all parts of oneself for that matter.
Learning to tune into the subtle shifts in energy and distinguish their origins, and learn the difference between “me” and “not me” in order to be able to tell if the negativity you are feeling is your own or someone else’s, helps prevent the inevitable overwhelming negative energies that often occur when you are susceptible to picking up another’s energy and taking it on as your own. Making a mental effort to silence thoughts and listen to your feelings, and to notice how feelings alter when the people or things surrounding you are altered, allows cranial consciousness and heart consciousness to work productively together without one dominating the other.
Using the heart, the brain can distinguish what it really wants from what it was conditioned to want, but has no deep rooted passion for. Just the same, the heart may tune into the brain and feel its thoughts, thus combining both organs of perception. Playing with how different thoughts make you feel, without then attaching more thoughts to those feelings or stories to them, and instead just letting them sit there while you consciously acknowledge they are there, is also crucial for finding a balance in working with both organs of perception. By listening to how the heart feels without adding mental thoughts and stories to those feelings, you can then choose to place your thoughts towards what feels more right to you when making decisions.

“Ongoing stress creates an energetic environment, affecting town and country, spreading from nation to nation, causing disharmony, disease, storms and wars. The heart’s intelligence can help to dissipate these negative energies, giving people a fresh start in learning how to get along. As enough people learn about emotional fitness, it will cause a global shift into new consciousness that many are talking about, and then quality of life has a chance of becoming better for the whole.” – Doc Childre

“Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart.”
In many ways, the uncontrolled mind resembles a five year old child wanting to run amok through the city streets, only able to sit still for a few seconds before getting the urge to jump up again. If you allow your brain to continuously run a mile a minute without ever interjecting, it will only press on with the madness until you discover that your mind has slowly become a prison.
However, you can actually free your mind, even if it seems impossible in the beginning. Humans are very adaptable creatures, and pick up on new habits throughout their lives. So, in this way, our brains become rewired because we have installed a new operating system in our minds: chaos. To create a peaceful mind, you just need to revert back to your original nature of harmony and balance. Sound difficult? Well, here are some effective techniques to help you regain control of your mind again.
5 techniques to quiet the mind:
1. Focus on the positive aspects of yourself and your surroundings.

In short, we have collectively created the mass disorder and confusion we observe around us on a daily basis with our thoughts. We have all allowed negative thinking to prevail for many millennia, so the physical world is merely a product of our thoughts. By simply shifting your focus to what makes you happy, or what you’re thankful for, you can start to retrain your mind to think more positively. Consequently, you will start to feel more peaceful since you no longer put so much emphasis on the negativity you perceive within yourself and elsewhere.
Remember, energy flows where attention goes – you can achieve peace by creating awareness behind your thoughts.
2. Repeat peaceful words to yourself throughout your day.

Pay attention to your brain at this very moment…what kinds of thoughts do you observe? Most likely, you will notice that the majority of your thoughts center around what you have to do today, or what someone said that made you angry, or even degrading thoughts about yourself. Don’t feel bad, though; with so much negativity around us, maintaining a consistent positive mindset isn’t always easy. However, you can actually counter the negative, stress-inducing thoughts with simple, peaceful words.
Anytime you feel a bout of anxiety coming on, introduce calming words into your awareness, such as: Tranquil. Calm. Peaceful. Serenity. Light. Love. Relaxing. Breeze. Beach. The last two words in the sequence describe scenery, which you can do as well if it makes you feel peaceful. Words carry a lot of meaning and power, so use them to your advantage whenever you feel stressed out.
3. Meditate on a regular basis.

We suggest meditation a whole lot on our website, but for good reason. When you meditate, you stop the flow of thoughts bombarding your consciousness every second, and instead move into a space where stillness takes precedence. While you don’t have to turn off your brain to meditate, many people feel that their thoughts slow down incredibly, and they can observe themselves much easier with controlled breaths and closed eyes. Meditation simply brings awareness into the body, and makes it much easier to cope with daily challenges.
If you want to cultivate more peace in your mind and life, start meditating, or sitting quietly focusing on nothing but your breath for at least ten minutes a day on a daily basis. You will find that adopting a more peaceful mindset becomes much more attainable.
4. Live in the here and now.

Forget about the errands you have to run tomorrow after work, or the bills you have to pay next week, or the uncertainty of your future that you haven’t even gotten to yet. When you let thoughts like these ruminate, it can cause great dis-ease within the body, and even lead to anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and other serious problems. Most anxiety is caused by simply living in a time other than the one we have right now, so bring yourself back to the present whenever you feel your thoughts taking you elsewhere.
By allowing yourself to flow from one moment to the next, just as you did as a child, you will recapture what it means to feel true peace.
5. Leave the city for a while and reconnect with nature.

This could mean going on your lunch break in a nearby park, or going on a vacation to get away from the stress of daily life. Anything you can do to strengthen your bond with nature will greatly benefit your mind, and help you remember that we create most stress we feel in our mind and body. We originated in a place of pure harmony, and most of what we see around us is just a very persistent illusion. Remember that nature doesn’t struggle through life, and you don’t have to, either. Don’t get too caught up with the trivial matters of the material world, because you won’t find peace in numbers or possessions.see also - TOP 10 BENEFITS OF PRACTICING YOGA REGULARLY
Truthfully, peace resides within your heart already, but Mother Earth can help you remember this by providing solace from the strains of modern society.
